There was fun on Sligo's O'Connell Street on Saturday (4 August) as
Yeats enthusiasts
dressed up in period costumes to hold Yeats Vintage
Day.
The street was closed to traffic for the event.
With vintage cars and carriages, and prizes for best dressed man and woman
the day was hailed as a great success.
While
Mayor David Cawley toured the town in a trap pulled by a stunning black
horse
there was plenty of entertainment on the street with musicians,
readers and poets
eager to ensure the enjoyment of all.
