An IT Sligo lecturer was one of three solicitors appointed as District Court judges by the Government yesterday.
Conor Daly, is the managing solicitor of the Northside Community Law Centre in Dublin, Colin Daly, has been nominated to the District Court. Born in 1968, he qualified as a solicitor in 1997.
Educated in Queen’s University Belfast, he is a part-time lecturer in the Institute of Technology in Sligo and chairman of the Limerick Law Centre Development Board.
The other solicitors elevated to the bench are, Mary Larkin, principal and managing partner in Larkin solicitors, Gort, Co Galway and John O’Connor, a member of a well-known legal family in Co Mayo and principal and managing partner of John O’Connor solicitors in Dublin.
The Government also announced the appointment of two new High Court judges, Paul McDermott SC and Iseult O’Malley SC.
In March, Ballymote-based solicitor, Keenan Johnson
was appointed a Circuit Court judge.
