Keep pressure on Govt to deliver Stimulus Package - Henry

The national chairman of Ógra Fianna Fáil, Sligoman Keith Henry, urges the public to keep pressure on the government to deliver on the proposals contained within the government stimulus package. While welcoming the announcement of the proposed works it is important to note that they are not set in stone.

“The possibility of generating up to 13,000 jobs is of course to be welcomed but I would be sceptical as to which projects will get the go ahead.”

Having consulted the Department of Health’s website Henry says “There are a list of 35 locations of which only 20 will be commissioned subject to agreement between the local GPs and the HSE.

Among the list of possible locations are Boyle, Ballaghadereen and Ballymote. Given the close geographical proximity and sparse population within these three locations Henry said he “would be sceptical as to whether all three will get the go ahead. Given that many local promises have already been reneged on its vital pressure is applied to local government members to ensure that the projects are delivered”
