A meeting will take place this evening, (Thursday) at the Teeling Centre in Collooney, (near N4 roundabout) at 8.30pm.
The announcement of the AIB closure in October will leave the town with no bank and local business people claim they will now have to travel to Ballymote, Tubbercurry or Sligo town to avail of bank services.
With farming families having to also detour to other towns for banking facilities the Collooney business people fear a significant loss of business as a knock-on effect.
Shopkeepers and publicans are especially worried about future trade.
Meanwhile Bundornan Town Council (Donegal) are meeting today at 2pm to specifically discuss the closure of the AIB branch in the seaside town.
Boyle, Co Roscommon and Charlestown, Co Mayo will also see their AIB branches close with services transfered to the local post office.
