Sligo's 'People of the Year' search underway

Nominations are being sought for the People of the Year awards hosted by The Sligo Champion.

The awards launch this week saw the organising groups, Rehab and The Sligo, Lions Club come together to oversee the search which will celebrate Sligo people who, through their efforts, make a difference to other's lives in a positive way.

The winners will be announced at a function in the Radisson Blu Hotel (Ballingar) on Friday 28 September 2012.

The various winning categories include, Carer of the Year, Young person of the Year and awards will also be presented in the Education and Community areas.

The closing date for nominations is Friday 24 August. Nomination forms are available from The Sligo Champion, Rehab or The Sligo Lions Club.
