Homes and businesses in the north east of Dublin city will not know until tomorrow if their water is safe to drink.
A boil notice was put in place after a contaminated sample of water was taken from a local supply over the weekend.
Up to 1,400 properties are said to be affected, but work is ongoing to make the supply safe.
Brian Hennelly, a senior engineer with Dublin City Council, said they are doing their best to treat the water, but admitted it could be a few days before the water is deemed safe.
