RTÉ Talent Competition Auditioning 8-13 Year-Olds in Sligo

RTÉ's elev8 is preparing to film the second series of last year's hit talent competition 'Show Off or Get Off'. This year the team are travelling to 12 locations around the country, including Sligo.

They will be in Sligo on Sunday, 26th August, from 11am-3pm at The Glass House Hotel.

Five acts from each audition will be selected as finalists. Each group of five finalists will face a public vote with the two acts receiving most votes progressing to the next round. The eventual winner will perform live on RTÉ’s elev8 and will also get to co-host elev8 for a day.

Acts between the ages of 8 and 13 (as on the 31st of December 2012) are welcome to perform any act they like on “Show Off or Get Off”, from the weird to the wonderful.

Last year saw a huge amount of talent from singer/songwriters to breakdancers and stand-up comedians. Each act will be given one minute to perform their chosen talent for the cameras. All children must be accompanied by an adult on the day.

Any acts that require props, materials or extra time or space to set up are asked to contact producers of the show prior to the audition. Entrants requiring backing music must provide a CD copy of their chosen track and this copy will not be returned. Mp3 players/mobile phones without adequate speakers will not be accepted. In the interest of fairness, all auditions are held on a first come first served basis - arrive early to avoid disappointment.
