Contracts for the N4 Ardloy Road Realignment scheme were signed at County Hall this week. The scheme, which is due to start fully on Monday 10th September will greatly improve road conditions and safety for all road users.
Preliminary work has already begun on the lethal stretch of road. See
SligoToday 24/8/12 Deputy Manager, Tom Kilfeather welcomed the commencement of the scheme. He stressed the importance of the project in the upgrading of this section of the N4. Mr Kilfeather thanked the elected members from the Ballymote area for their support in securing funding for these works and he also praised the staff of the Road Design section of the Council. Without their work funding for this and other road schemes would not have been secured.
The Cathaoirleach, Councillor Veronica Cawley also welcomed the scheme and on behalf of the elected members she wished the contractors, Harrington Concrete and Quarries every success with the project.
