Irish Girl Guides to hold Taster Day in Sligo Town

The Irish Girl Guides will be holding a free Taster Day in Sligo on the 29th September 2012 at the Carraroe Community Centre. The day will involve fun filled workshops where girls and potential leaders can come along and try out some guiding activities.

The Taster Day is open to all girls between the ages of 5 and 15. Girl between the ages of 5 and 10 are invited along between 11am and 1pm and girls from 10-and-a-half to 15 are invited along between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

Girls will get to try out lots of guiding activities such as crafts, games, songs, team challenges and some outdoor activities weather permitting. Any adults who may be interested in becoming volunteer leaders are also invited to attend on the day.

Experienced guide leaders from units in Grange, Skreen and Ballina will be in attendance to give girls, parents and potential leaders advice on setting up a unit as well as helping out with the activities.

The event is free and all are welcome to attend.

BALLISODARE SCOUTS REGISTRATION

Meanwhile registration for 13 Sligo Ballisodare Scouts will take place on Thursday 13 September in Corhownagh Hall, Ballisodare at 7.30pm.  

For further information contact Scout Leader  at eltraining@iol.ie or phone 086 8369080.  Parents are asked to be there at 7.30pm sharp and  the meeting and registration will be over by 8.15pm. The fee this year is €50.
