Just
over forty people took part in this years Culfadda / Northweast Hospice
Fun 10km Walk that took place at 1pm last Sunday 9 Sept. Earlier in the
day some people with other commitments completed the walk.
The current Culfadda Queen, Alexandra Block was in attendance to assist with the proceedings.
A
gentle drizzle and breeze kept the walkers from overheating many of
whom had traveled from all over Sligo and neighbouring counties to
participate in the popular event.
Local volunteers provided a non-stop feast of sandwiches and tea in the Community Hall for the weary walkers.
At
a social gathering afterwards, the events coordinator and fund raiser
extraordinaire Kieran McGill informed the crowd that the amount raised
for the North West Hospice by the competitors was to exceed €5,400 with
more pledged funds being collected.

in helping such a worthy cause.
