Dr Maths wows the crowds at Maths Week in IT Sligo

Almost 600 primary and secondary students from all over Sligo attended Maths Week shows by UK celebrity Maths expert, Dr Steve Humble, at IT Sligo yesterday.

Students filled the Institute’s Hume Hall venue to take part in the fun and interactive show by the presenter, who is otherwise known as Dr Maths. His hour long shows approached the subject in an offbeat and interesting style.

This is the third year that IT Sligo has put on a provocative programme of Maths Week events, where students, staff and members of the public are invited to ponder the relevance of the subject.

The Institute also organised an interactive maths workshop by US-based mathematician Colm Mulcahy at the Mercy College.
