'Big Phil' for Sligo visit tonight

The Environment Minister Phil Hogan will be in Sligo later today (Wednesday) .

Following the visits already this week of the Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Social Protection Minister, Joan Burton and Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton, Mr Hogan will be guest of honour at a dinner this evening in the Radisson SAS Blu hotel in Ballincar.

The event, the annual dinner of the County and City Manager's Society will be addressed by the minister.

It is expected that his radical overhaul of local authorities will be the principal topic of conversation tonight.
