Sligo Jazz Festival 2017 launched

Sligo Jazz Project launched its 2017 Sligo Jazz Fest programme with a night of superb music in Tricky’s McGarrigles last night, Thursday.

Sligo Jazz Project’s Eddie Lee thanked Cathaoirleach Hubert Keaney who took time out from an important function to perform the official launch and spoke of his excitement some of the programme's highlights.

Appearing at the festival will be Artist in Residence, MOBO award winner Soweto Kinch, drummer Virgil Donati and a co-promotion with the Yeats Summer School  and the Hawk’s Well Theatre of Christine Tobin’s six piece Yeats inspired “Sailing to Byzantium” jazz project at the Hawk’s Well on Thursday July 27.

Sligo Jazz Festival takes place from 25-30 July and there are still places available in SJP’s superb international summer school, the biggest and best event of its kind in Europe.
