Sligo Road and Traffic Report - 4 September

MAJOR WORKS:

SLIGO AREA:


Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

Pipelaying operations will continue on the Pearse Road in a southwards direction towards the Junction with Mail Coach Road.  Temporary traffic lights will be in operation to maintain north and south bound traffic flows.

Access onto Pearse Road from Chapel Hill and St Bridget’s Place is expected to be restored from mid week onwards.

Pipelaying operations will commence along Bridge Street with south bound traffic flows towards Thomas Street restricted to one lane.

A Full night time road closure is planned for Castle Street from 7.00 pm on Tuesday 5th Sept to 7.00 am on Wednesday 6th September in order to facilitate final road re-surfacing works.

Minor delays can be expected on the evening of Monday 4th Sept as final road re-surfacing works continue from the vicinity of the Garda Station on the Lower Pearse Road outwards towards St. Bridget’s Place/Pilkington Terrace

Pipelaying operations will continue along Duck Street in the Ballytivnan area and will extend out onto the Bundoran Road at the N15/N16 junction with temporary lights in operation. Access from the N15 (Bundoran Road) onto the N16 (Enniskillen Road) will be subject to night time restrictions (7.00pm to 7.00am) during the week. Alternative routes from the N15 onto the N16 will be sign posted each night taking traffic through Elm Gardens, Avondale and Ballytivnan Road.

Minor footpath repair and kerbing works will be ongoing along Castle street

Traffic Management will be in place at all works locations with diversions clearly signed but minor delays can be expected

Motorists are advised to drive with caution.


TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Footpath upgrade works will commence on the N17 Circular Road Tubbercurry from Monday 4th September, 2017.  Traffic control will be in operation with significant delays expected. Works will continue for 2 weeks.

Verge trimming works will commence on the N17 Collooney to Bellaghy from Monday, 4th September, 2017.  Traffic control will be in operation with significant delays expected.  Works will continue for 1 week.

ENNISCRONE AREA:


Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.

MINOR WORKS:

SLIGO CITY AREA:


Footpath works will continue on John Street on the North side. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

A Scaffolding licence has been extended for Thomas Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last for a further six weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

A Scaffolding licence has been granted for 4 Church Hill, Sligo. Works are expected to last until 15th September 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.

Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Footpath works will continue in the Hollow, Enniscrone.  Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Drainage works will be carried out in the Enniscrone area. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

COUNTY WIDE:

A Japanese Knotweed eradication programme is being undertaken on the N4, N15, N16, N17 and N59 National Routes. The programme is expected to conclude on Thursday the 7th September, 2017.

Temporary Traffic Management Plans will be in place from time to time on the various routes outlined
