Gardaí are investigating a fire at Russborough House in Co Wicklow, which has extensively damaged the west wing of the building.
The alarm was raised at around 9pm last night and gardaí alerted fire services.
Up to eight units of the fire brigade were dispatched from Dunlavin, Blessington and Kildare.

Emergency services brought the blaze under control by around 5am.
There were no reports of any injuries and it is not yet known if anyone was in the house at the time.
Gardaí said it is too early to say whether the fire is being treated as suspicious.
Located near Blessington lakes, Russborough House is one of Ireland's most famous stately homes and houses a valuable art collection, which has been targeted several times in break-ins.
