Sligo Chamber partners with Fair Dealer on ‘Love Sligo’ card

Sligo Chamber is continuing its support of the Fair Dealer campaign by partnering with Sligo's Fair Dealers on the ‘Love Sligo’ loyalty card.  The ‘Love Sligo’ card is a loyalty scheme aimed at keeping Sligo’s 15,000+ union members shopping in Sligo.  

Speaking of the campaign, Sligo Chamber President Fergal Burke said “The ‘Love Sligo’ card is designed to encourage and promote the concept of shopping locally to help protect jobs and businesses in the locality.  However, we in Sligo Chamber felt that this card should not only be aimed at retailers but should be expanded to the wider service sector.”

“As I have said many times before, a joint team effort is what is required to improve the local economy.  This is a perfect example of Sligo uniting in a common goal with the leaders of the trade union movement in Sligo, the Fair Dealer campaign and Sligo Chamber all working together to protect local business” continued Fergal Burke.

Hilary McPartland of Sligo Chamber added “we would encourage all Sligo businesses to get involved in the 'Love Sligo' scheme and take this opportunity to promote their businesses through the 'Love Sligo' business directory which will be distributed to the 15,000 card holders.  By shopping locally, consumers will not only be rewarded for their continued custom but they will be contributing to a sustainable local economy”.

Phelim O’Neill founder of the Fair Dealer Campaign welcomed Sligo Chamber on board by saying “Sligo Chambers enthusiasm to embrace this collective campaign to rejuvenate the local economy is a welcome development.  This is a critical time for local businesses and job retention in the Sligo area, it is imperative that Sligo's businesses engage in this campaign in a united bid to drive sustainable growth in the local economy”.  

“Businesses will be given the opportunity to offer rewards to the 'Love Sligo' card holders.  The benefits which card holders can expect to receive will range from price discounts, to shopping vouchers, free gifts and many other benefits” concluded Mr. O'Neill.
