Local Election Candidate Sligo County Council & Sligo Borough Council
Mary Dolan Mcloughlin is a Sligo native and was raised in Maugheraboy and St. Josephís. A mother of five, she now lives in Seaview Park with her husband John, a taxi driver by profession.
For the last 30 years she has worked in St. Johnís Hospital Sligo as a Health Care Assistant.
She has been active in SIPTU as Shop Steward for over 15 years, Chairperson of the Seaview Park Residents Association for seven years and is also a member of the Health Care National Committee and the Partnership Committee for St. Johnís Hospital.
Mary has campaigned for the retention of cancer care services in Sligo which is a vital service for the people of Sligo and the North West.
As a health care professional Mary has seen firsthand the effects of the cutbacks that affect, among others, the older people in her care. As a candidate, mary will continue to fight for the retention of services in health care, education and training and in assisting people locally who remain on housing lists. Health, education and investment in job opportunities are Maryís priorities in this election. She has the experience, energy and commitment to make a real difference in our community, but she needs your support.
