The results - How it all changed in 5 years

Sligo had a high turnout with 67% of the electorate exercising
their right to vote. Dromore West was the
highest at 72.24% closely followed by Tubbercurry at 72.12%
and Ballymote at 69.4%.
This contrasted with Strandhill showing 61%
and Drumcliffe at just 60%.

Day of Reckoning - Election '09 Results

Today is the day, all the months, in some cases years, of preparation, pain, endurance and hope will be realised or dashed today. It is expected that the final results for both the County Council and Borough Council will be known by this evening, barring any major recounts.

Sligo Today will be at the count venues to bring you the results as they happen along with photographs and interviews.

The counts kick off at 9am at The Clarion Hotel (County) and the MCR centre (Borough) and it is carried out in a strict order, the County Council count will commence with Strandhill and Drumcliffe. The will then be a draw to determine the running order for Ballymote, Tubbercurry and Dromore West electoral areas.

In the Borough count the sequence will be East Ward, North Ward followed by the West Ward.

Tomorrow, Sunday 6 June, will see the European Election count get underway at The Traveller's Friend in Castlebar, County Mayo. Sligo Today will be there to bring you all the results.
